Mr. Ted Turgeon-CEO/Chief Instructor/5th Degree Black Belt/Senior Certified Instructor
Ted "Wolverine" Turgeon is a 5th Degree Black Belt & Senior Certified Instructor, who began studying TaeKwonDo in 1986 under Senior Master Ron Allman. Mr. Turgeon is a ten-time National Champion. He currently still competes in national tournaments, and has won SIX straight national competitions. He has been ranked in the "National Top Ten" every year since 2011, currently leads the 2015 Point Standings for his division, and was the 2013 Taekwondo United National Points Champion for 4th and 5th Degree Black Belts! In addition, Mr. Turgeon has coached students to forty-six national tournament championships, and a national points title, since opening his own martial arts school seven years ago. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Consumer Science from The University of Alabama, where he maintained a 4.0 g.p.a. He trains in, and teaches; TaeKwonDo, Krav Maga (Israeli Self Defense), and grappling (Jiu Jitsu). He also serves as Strength and Conditioning Coach for the hockey team at the University of Alabama.
Mr. William Kyner -Third Degree Decided Black Belt/Senior Certified Instructor
Mr. William Kyner started taekwondo in 2010 under Mr. Ted Turgeon. He has won several national championships in forms and sparring. Mr. Kyner placed Second in the Taekwondo United Points Championship for 2nd Degree Black Belt Men in 2013. He also practices Jiu Jitsu, and competitive weapons forms. Mr. Kyner also leads the Hyper Pro Training Program here at TTMA. His students perform well in competitions, as well as in school. Mr. Kyner values learning and curiosity, and seeks to foster those traits in his taekwondo students.
Ms. Bethany Bible - Second Degree Decided Black Belt/Senior Certified Instructor
Ms. Tara Maynard - Second Degree Sr Black Belt/ Senior Certified Instructor
Ms. Tara Maynard is a 2nd Degree Senior Black Belt and Senior Certified Instructor. She started Taekwondo in September of 2009 under Mr. Ted Turgeon and has loved it ever since. She is the lead instructor of the Lil' Dragons program (ages 3-6), Wolverine Demo Team Captian, and Summer Camp Leader. Ms. Maynard aims to instill important character traits in her students such as perserverance, patience, determination and strength on and off the mats.
Mr. Erik Hurlbut-Third Degree Black Belt/Level 3 Instructor
Ms. Jayda Webb- First degree Black Belt/Level 2 Instructor
Jayda Webb started Taekwondo in 2015 under Mrs. Heather Smyth. From her first class she loved it and Taekwondo is now her way of life. She found her passion to teach through Taekwondo and strives for excellence in every student she teaches.
Mr. Richard Potter- Second Degree Decided Black Belt/Level 1 Instructor
Richard Potter started taekwondo in 2014 at the age of 8. He was trained under Mr Ted Turgeon and Mr William Kyner. Mr. Potter loves everything about taekwondo and is excited to be able to help students be the best they can. He hopes that he is able to show students that you can do anything you put your mind to. He also loves to particpate in Hyper and nun chucks are his favorite weapon. While not at taekwondo, Mr. Potter maintains an A/B average in school. His favorite subjects are Math and Science.
